Step 1
The first step to getting your vanpool on the road is to recruit riders. If you don't already have a full compliment, our recruiting tools can help you find commuters just like yourself to fill the seats in your Vanpool.
Our Vanpool Riders Wanted Poster is one of the best tools for recruiting riders. Simply click on the Poster link, print a copy, fill in your vanpool information, and post them at your work site. It's also helpful to email associates at work announcing the formation of a new vanpool by using our email template.
You can also find riders by posting your information at neighboring work sites, and frequently visited public facilities. The South Florida Commuter Vanpool Program Buck Slip and South Florida Employee Brochure are handy pass outs to give to your interested riders as well.
As you begin the recruiting process, prospective riders will want to know about their monthly cost. The monthly cost is made up of several components which include the vehicle, the distance being traveled, fuel, parking and toll charges, and other miscelaneous expenses. If your commute begins or ends in Dade or Broward counties, the monthly cost of your vanpool may be subsidized!
Each driver of a South Florida Commuter Vanpool Program vehicle needs to go through an application and approval process - which is the next step in getting your vehicle on the road. Click on the Step Two - Driver Approval button to continue.
